About this artwork
Waxwings are winter birds here in Idaho, gathering in large museums in berry trees and at the edge of cold streams. They seem lighter in color in the winter, more yellow and peach than in other seasons, and I love to paint them that way. The tiny red spurs on the tips of their feathers are so unique and add a splash of red. This is a varnished oil painting with the scene on board. Unwired.
