About this artwork

The inspiration for this painting was the pattern of order laid down by the narrow leaf water lilies I found while kayaking in Connecticut. The narrow leaves unlike regular water lilies seem to point in varying directions that played against the implied lines connecting each each leaf cluster. The entire scene struck me as a playful yet strong design. The painting is varnished, wired and ready for hanging. The edges are a clean white paint.
