About this artwork

This is the fountain in Washington Square in New York on an October afternoon, says artist Nick Savides. Water leaps and flashes high as it reaches for the bright sky. It lets the sunlight's rays play in the splash, designing a phenomenon full of light. Defined shadows are cast around the structure, creating a dramatic scene complete with figures appearing as silhouettes seated across from each other.
