About this artwork

While walking at the south end of Central Park one night in February, I stopped by to visit the monument to Jose Marti on 59th street. I was showing my wife around the city and since we are both Cubans, we thought it appropriate to visit the large monument dedicated to the memory of the great Cuban leader and poet. As we left the park to cross 59th street, I was struck by the the view looking down 6th Avenue which is also known as Avenue of The Americas. The painting is varnished, wired and ready for hanging. The edges are a clean white gesso.
