About this artwork
Le Cristal Room as the French call it, is a famous restaurant in the chic 16th arrondissement in Paris. I was there one night when I found the asian-themed paper tucked between two Baccarat highballs, says Anne-Francois. I even saw a woman playing cards that night and the scene became this painting. The couple, while clearly together, is also clearly divided, for both the man and the woman are in separate worlds. The sides of the canvas are secured with decorative nails.
