About this artwork

A young girl wearing a tutu sits in front of a vanity. Artist C M Cooper based this piece on the innocence of childhood, using an eight-year-old ballet student as the model. Another artist offered her home in the hills of Beverly Hills for the photo shoot. The property once served as the summer residence of Norma Shearer, who appeared in films from 1919 to 1942. C M worked from an enlarged black-and-white slide and developed a harmonious color scheme.
