About this artwork
Late in the day I walk through an oak-hickory wood. Most of the trees growing along the trail are red oaks. The first hard freeze of autumn has turned their leaves scarlet. Silver Maples and Choke Cherry have already lost some of their foliage. Leaves litter the path. A setting sun tints the sky a rosy pink. Bare limbs and tree trunks are a deep burgundy while goldenrod bends over my path. I am drawn slowly onward to what awaits. This piece is on gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. It comes varnished, wired, and ready to hang.
