About this artwork

In this glowing portrait, artist Mary Pratt shows a fashionable woman surrounded by a blooming summer garden. Working with palette knives, Mary created this soft and delightful piece in hues of red and yellow. The colors evoke a warm and inviting feel along with the figure's smile that expresses content and happiness. I pushed warmer color to accentuate the woman as she reaches down to pick the flowers, explains Mary.
