About this artwork
Painted from a plein air study done before the land was developed on the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, CA. I walked into waist deep wildflowers to paint and was transfixed by the mystical quality of these Native American sacred grounds! In my studio I have built up layers of color to try to represent this lost location. I painted the edges black and attached a secure hanging cable.
