About this artwork

The setting the artist painted is one of the main sidewalks of Venice along The Grand Canal. Part of The Rialto Bridge is visible just beyond the outdoor restaurants. Onelio recently spent a few days there and like most people, he fell in love with the place. The artist wrote in his journal: Whether the days were brilliant or rainy, walking the labyrinthine streets was always breathtaking. I fell in love with all the masonry, especially the way the basalt pavers looked in the rain.
