About this artwork
This architectural painting depicts King’s Quick Lunch, a five-stool lunch wagon typical of the early to mid-20th century. These wagons served office districts and light industrial areas, many lasting from the 1940s into the mid-1950s. Over the years, customers wore down the steps as they returned for meals that were hot, affordable, and fast. After eating, they could still sit in the sun and relax before returning to work.
