About this artwork
An iconic view of Chicago, going south on Lakeshore Drive, facing downtown from Gold Coast. This scene has an open, wide feeling. Yangzi used browns to paint the sky, the buildings and the roads -- almost monochrome, which allows the bright colors of the lights and signs to pop. Pallet knives were used to create the foggy atmosphere which covers the top of the buildings - you can feel the roughness and energy from the texture.
