About this artwork

This expressionist floral painting began as an experiment in balancing color and movement. Artist Dowa Hattem worked without a fixed plan, allowing the brush to move freely as the composition formed. She blended colors quickly to create energy without adding excess detail. Dowa stepped back often to observe the layers as they developed and stopped when the image felt clear, stable, and complete.
