About this artwork

This painting depicts an early morning winter scene along the trailhead near artist Onelio Marrero's home. This secluded area borders a winding river, and the trailhead is adorned with saplings, cattails, and Japanese knotweed. On this particular morning, the overnight wet snow clung to even the smallest twigs. Onelio captures the scene's subtle colors using soft brushstrokes, deft palette knife application, and rich impasto.
