About this artwork

I've been interested in the geisha since I was a child. They represent the highest form of entertainer in Japanese culture. Geishas are trained vigorously in art, music and dancing. If you translate Geisha into English, you get artist. This geisha walks by a cloud filled landscape. The blues in her kimono are vibrant against the white landscape. The painting continues around the sides of the gallery wrapped canvas. The work is varnished and wired to hang.
