About this artwork

Water lilies, reed grass and sweet rockets occupy the scene in this painting. My depictions of local fresh water ponds, lakes and slow moving streams are an ongoing theme I return to again and again. In this case the approaching dusk fills the painting with subtle but unexpected hues. I originally started the painting as a 26x36 composition but later adjusted the format so I could include the sweet rockets in the lower left. This painting is varnished, wired and ready for hanging. The edges are a clean white gesso.
