About this artwork

From farm to table to easel, artist Mary Pratt paints a pastoral still life of fresh produce. She exhibits onions, garlic, lemons, and beans in quick and fluid paintwork. I noticed the bright hues and felt compelled to capture the arranged fruits and vegetables before sauteing, says Mary. The wet-on-wet paint application achieves a lavish and thick color consistency.
