About this artwork

The historic Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles has a cafe on its street level called Best Girl, explains artist Hadley Northrop. The floor is a classic black and white checkerboard, and all day long people pass through this utilitarian but welcoming space. The figures in this painting, preoccupied and temporal, are at work, but it's a scene of calm activity - the serenity of a quiet pause in the day for coffee.Please note: this painting has stapled edges, so framing is recommended for optimal display.
