About this artwork

New York City buildings and streets are a never-ending source of inspiration for me. As I walked on 42nd Street towards Bryant Park, I was struck by the symmetry caused by the reflection on a glass storefront. The symmetry and the swooping lines of the Grace building created a perfect repoussoir element to the scene. I titled the painting after the third book in a trilogy of novels by Justin Cronin. Everywhere one travels in Manhattan, there are windows and mirrors that challenge perception.
