About this artwork

I decided to paint this young waiter setting up before the arrival of the usual crowd at Buca di Beppo because his attire made a rich contrast with the warm tones of the environment. The restaurant features an abundance of framed vintage photos and collectibles. I particularly enjoyed rendering them in such a way that they would contrast with the cool colors of the waiter's shirt. The casual ambiance enhanced by the faux grapevine and gingham table cloths gave his clothing an added touch of elegance. The painting is varnished, wired, and ready for hanging. The edges are clean white gesso.
