About this artwork

In this piece I continue my expression of taking what is realistic and mixing it with what I see in my imagination. I am aiming for abstraction and fantasy and beauty. This painting is the simple beauty of a woman's back set against a background of dreamlike quality. I always try to make the figure look like it lives in the environment I've envisioned and in the piece I feel I was successful in that attempt. It has a calm quality that is appealing.
