About this artwork

Not far from Stonehenge lies this lesser know Neolithic monument, the largest megalithic stone circle in the world. I've captured it here with dramatic afternoon light. Sunlight pours in from the left highlighting the fields and clouds and casting dark shadows, while in the background a gathering storm darkens the sky. The walking path of the Outer Circle leads deep into the landscape. I used broad brush strokes and a palette of warm greens and golds, with cooler greens in the far distance.
