About this artwork

The title is from a quote attributed to Winston Churchill There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man. I would like to also add ...or a woman. I painted the outline of the horse in a deep red and then collaged white eggshells onto the surface of the canvas and then shaded and contoured the horse's anatomy with black gesso. The sides are finished as a continuation of the background and it is ready to hang.
