About this artwork

Let's see who can blow the biggest bubble! Yeah! Ok...wait...Ok...go! --------------pop- POP! YESSSS!!! Eat that sucka!!! Aww man?! Ok, ok, again! I'm always in awe of how kids can grind each other into the dust with competition, in a way that we grown-ups may consider pretty darn rude, and just keep right on whistling a happy tune with their BFFs. I am in love with, and inspired by their candor and resilience. And I love the simplicity of their games. This wood panel was blanketed first with the torn, yellowed pages of a novel, then painted over with transparent red/purple acrylic so that the text is readily visible on all sides, as well as in some more transparent areas of the painting. The image itself is done in oil. The work comes wired and ready to hang.
