About this artwork
Artist Scott Dykema created this painting while staying in the mountains in New Mexico. The work started as an abstraction, explains Scott. The skull was added over the abstract painting, and I chose the skull of an impala. The original title was The Most Tame Impala - a play on the name of the band Tame Impala and the idea of a skull as a representation of death. Death being the point of being most tame. The piece is full of amazing detail as well as atmosphere.
