About this artwork

A bright and cheerful panoramic abstract by artist Linda Shaffer. Inspired by the hummingbirds in spring eating the nectar of desert cactus. Linda incorporates different materials to create this flowing scene. I used gold, green, and pink, embedded with hand-printed papers, washi papers, and original images, says Linda. I love hummingbirds and live in Las Vegas where they flourish. As spring arrived, I noticed them hovering over scarlet hedgehog cacti, dipping in and out of the flowers eating the nectar, a beautiful sight to behold.
