About this artwork
Australian bushrangers were notorious outlaws fighting for their rights and rebelling against oppression. None were more famous than Ned Kelly, who fashioned a suit of armor made from the moldboards of plows, now a classic Australian icon. In this sculpture, artist Stefan Mager portrays the helmeted renegade cheerfully riding a pink horse. He brings this whimsical piece to life using ceramic, various glazes, copper oxide, and enamel paint.
