About this artwork

When I was a young girl, I obsessively drew horses. My mother used to run out of paper! Recently the idea came to mind to use my eggshell-ing technique to create the image of a horse. The eggshells are stained with shades of black gesso and then collag-ed on the surface of the canvas. The title is a play on the paradox in depicting such a strong and powerful creature by using such a delicate and fragile material. The gallery wrapped canvas is ready to hang and the sides of the piece have been finished as an extension of the background of the painting.
