About this artwork

Artist Jennifer Ross presents an equine standing in a field and wearing a plaid blanket. Inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art form of repairing broken objects, Jennifer adorns the horse's body with pieces of broken eggshells. The animal's textural figure and the fabric's bold pattern stand out against the night sky. I named this piece as a reference to a hunter, both the folkloric name for October's full moon and a style of equestrian riding.
