About this artwork

Artist Joey Korom assembles paint chips collected from a century-old, paint-flaking Chicago train trestle into a distinctive textured composition. The exposed fronts and pebble-embedded backs of the chips bring contrasting surfaces and forms together, transforming discarded fragments into an unconventional work of art. Korom describes the piece as challenging, unconventional, and unique.
