About this artwork
A warm garden scene in a vintage aesthetic, with a variety of flowers and grasses springing up from the soil. "Hiraeth is a Welsh word that means longing for or missing a time, an era, or a person - including homesickness for what may not exist any longer," explains Shannon. "It is associated with the bittersweet memory of missing something or someone, while being grateful of that/their existence." This painting is on a cradled birch wood panel and contains natural mica. The background is made up of a mix of vintage ephemeral materials including old book pages, maps, and letters.
