About this artwork

Often found growing along roadside ditches and other humble places poppies are enchanting flowers rich with meaning and symbolism. This scenic mixed media encaustic painting has an image transfer of wild poppies dancing in the breeze with a playful dragonfly soaring through them . The tips of some of the flowers are painted gold. The background of this painting is made up of a variety of vintage ephemeral materials including old book pages, maps, letters and more. They quietly peek out in sections of the painting and are completely obscured in other areas. The artwork is on a cradled birch wood panel with the edges painted black. It is wired and ready to hang.
