A Whisper of Wind

As you walk down the street on a chilly autumn evening you notice the leaves in the trees rustling and slowly falling to the ground. You look around and feel a whisper of wind gently against your cheek.
The background of this mixed media encaustic painting is made up of a variety of vintage ephemeral materials including old book pages, maps, letters and more. They quietly peek out in sections of the painting and are completely obscured in other areas. The tips of some of the branches have little glowing golden orbs that catch the light from different angles. The painting has a weathered, distressed look and feel to convey a sense of history and time passing.
This is a mixed media encaustic painting with image transfers. The painting is on a cradled birch wood panel with the edges painted black. It comes wired and ready to hang.
