About this artwork

I am inspired by the paranormal and the supernatural. In this piece I wanted to depict an otherworldly being or visitor from another plane. I gave this being an abstract quality that would render it both recognizable as an image but allow it to remain mysterious. Like most of my work, I completed this piece using a subtractive method where I laid down the charcoal medium and then removed it with an eraser to reveal the image. Be careful when handling the piece as charcoal may come off on the surface (despite being sprayed with fixative). The piece will be shipped inside of a protective glasseine cover to help reduce this risk.
