About this artwork

Inspired by an old black and white photo, this work uses fresh colors and exuberant paint handling to bring the subject matter into the modern space. The clouds echo the shapes of the trees below, and form an effective counterpoint to the flat, choppy surface of the creek. The color palette is bold but not outrageous, allowing this piece to work in almost any space. The gallery-wrapped canvas has sides painted brown, and it comes wired and ready to hang.
