About this artwork

Artist Juan Gabriel Perez Botero worked in many layers to develop this modernist abstract. Using a predominantly cobalt blue to set the stage, Juan worked in complementary strokes of pink, green, yellow and white, mixing colors as he painted. Abstraction makes use of the most essential elements of visual arts such as color, texture, line, and to a great extent, intuition, to create a form that disconnects or denies the near reality to have its own artistic expression, says Juan.
