The Blue Swallow
About this artwork
Artist John Jaste paints the Blue Swallow MotelÑan icon of Route 66 folklore that opened in 1942. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, the motel continues to operate as a popular overnight destination. It is shown here as it stood in the early 50s, with the sky blue swallow sign, orange building, and complement of vintage cars in the parking lot, says John.
