About this artwork

Artist Janet Dyer visits Harriman State Park throughout the year for inspiration for her impressionist paintings. I was struck by the geometric shape of pink-orange in the middle of the lake, she says of this gentle sunset. Painterly brushwork conveys the immediacy of the scene and the fast changing light.
