About this artwork

Artist Janet Dyer shows a stand of trees on a winter landscape. Earthy tones provide a contrast to the sheets of white. I never know when I'll happen on something I want to paint, shares Janet. This was something I saw while waiting at a red light. Her expressive approach captures the energy of the image rather than immediate representational details. Janet executes a buoyant sense of motion with subtle impasto application.
