About this artwork
A tall tree in warm autumn colorpresides over an abstract landscape. Artist Chris Wagner used his signature style of negative white space to simplify and focus the scene. This painting is a product of a day trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia during the height of leaf season, shares Chris. A few select trees stood out so brilliantly that I wanted them to be the sole subject of my canvas, letting them shine while only giving a hint of their surroundings.
