About this artwork

This Fauvist study uses mostly large, heavy blocks of color to literally build up the surface, visually and physically. Reminiscent of some of van Gogh's works, the composition is dominated by the large, curving bridge at right. Much of the visual interest is reserved for the reflections, however. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted brown, and it arrives wired and ready to hang.
