About this artwork

In his signature style, artist John Jaster paints this famous tree in Pebble Beach, California. Overlooking Carmel Bay, The Lone Cypress grows into a Western icon as one of the most photographed trees in North America. The bold contrast of the colors results in a lively natural landscape by the beautiful ocean. The Cypress sprung from a seedling on that rocky outcropping before the birth of our nation, some 250 years ago, shares John.
