About this artwork
The Oregon Coast has it's own share of rugged shorelines, where tide pools capture lapping waves slipping by monstrous rocks into the cliff side. These rock formations, called sea stacks, jut far out into the water in Cannon Beach. One of the largest is named Haystack Rock. The reflections of the massive sea stacks ride the low tide into the sandy beach as multiple hues of blues and purples gently slide across the damp yellow sand. John uses multiple layers to achieve the bold and rich colors.
