About this artwork

This piece was done about the same time I was making a painting titled Davenport, says Glenn. They're both meant to be sort of light-hearted and explore interesting color relationships. Cleopatra is very much an improvisational piece. I see her kind of bored at some sort of reception, just staring off into the distance and biding her time - something I think a lot of us can relate to.
