About this artwork

In this work, the viewer sees everything from the top of a large hill, creating a sense of spaciousness and distance. The tall trees left of center are the only elements in the foreground, and they help to magnify the distance to the houses and water below. The color palette, especially in the fore and middle ground, is bright, and the brushwork maintains a slightly improvisational quality. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted brown, and the work comes wired and ready to hang.
