About this artwork

Another landscape in the Fauvist tradition, in which bright sunlight causes extremes of contrast and intense colors. Additional colors are worked into the shadows, roof, street, and sky to enhance the surface interest. Of special interest is the fence in the foreground, rendered in red and orange with a single expressionist brush. This piece has its sides painted brown, and it comes ready to hang.
