Vic Roschkov
London , Canada
Artist Vic Roschkov creates watercolor landscapes inspired by the countryside of London, Ontario, Canada. He explores the area by driving through rural landscapes, capturing scenes through photos and sketches that spark his creativity. “I constantly strive to capture the subtle beauty, charm, and atmospheric moods in my art,” says Vic. Raised in an artistic family, he developed a love for drawing at a young age, influenced by his father, a well-known Canadian political cartoonist. Before transitioning to fine art, he spent thirteen years working as a graphic artist and illustrator. Vic paints in a compact yet well-organized studio, where large sliding glass doors fill the space with natural light. When not painting, he enjoys fishing and cheering for his favorite NHL team.

Artist Statement

A childhood in an artistically inclined family led me to a career as a graphic artist and illustrator, which eventually guided me toward fine art. Along the way, I have been influenced by renowned artists such as A. J. Casson, Winslow Homer, and Andrew Wyeth.

Years of forming a deep emotional connection to the countryside near London, Ontario, have provided endless inspiration for my watercolor landscapes. The medium allows me to express and capture my response to these surroundings, sometimes incorporating weathered structures that add character and history to the scene. I constantly strive to convey the subtle beauty, charm, and atmospheric moods of the landscapes I paint.

I work with high-quality materials such as Arches or Winsor & Newton watercolor paper and paints, ensuring the best possible outcome for each piece. It is deeply rewarding when viewers and collectors share their own emotional connections to my work. Moving forward, my goal is to expand my audience while continuing to refine and evolve my artistic practice—an ongoing and fulfilling journey.
