Sarah Parsons
Franklin, Tennessee
Sarah Parsons is an abstract painter who creates vibrant compositions full of movement and feeling. Heavily influenced and inspired by physical landscape combined with her love for bold color combinations, Sarah's work aims to capture a feeling of being in a particular moment rather than a literal depiction of a scene. Created with her tools of choice, a palette knife and dry brush, Sarah's dream-like abstract works dramatically impact the spaces where they hang.

Artist Statement
Born in Boulder, CO and raised in a variety of places, I developed an early love for creating and an appreciation for changing scenery. Some of my earliest memories are from visiting my grandparents’ home in Cape Cod, where my grandmother had an art studio. Whether I was breathing in the salty sea air or the crisp mountain air, I quickly learned how much the environment and atmosphere could influence my creativity and emotions.
My work is heavily inspired by the physical landscape and my love for surprising color combinations. I aim to capture the feeling of being in a particular moment rather than a literal depiction of a scene. Using my favorite tools—a palette knife and a dry brush—I create dream-like abstract landscapes that, I hope, impact the spaces they inhabit just as much as the environments that inspired them.
