Nadia Boldina

Moscow, Russia
Artist Nadia Boldina paints impressionist views of small European villages and the surrounding nature. "When I paint something - nature, architecture, a person - I am creating a portrait," says Nadia. "After all, every object has a character and a hidden face!" At university, Nadia studied watercolor and fell in love with the medium. All the while, she continued to strive for something more solid. Nadia began experimenting with oil paint. However, she says that she couldn't understand its character for a long time. Looking for guidance, she pored over the work of the old masters - Rembrandt, Rubens, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, and many others. Considering them as her primary teachers and consequently studying their approach to painting allowed Naida to grow in her art and become inspired by new works. Today, her studio is located in the apartment where she lives with her husband and two cats. It is a bright sunny room with white walls and a high ceiling where air flows. When in need of a break, Nadia spends time in nature and the outdoors, coming back to her studio invigorated and refreshed.
