Gulshaba Abbasova
Baku, Azerbaijan
Artist Gulshaba Abbasova paints serene oil landscapes with a blend of realism and impressionism. "I try not to copy nature, but to express its mood through light, color, and texture," says Gulshaba. Inspired by quiet moments in nature and the way light transforms a setting, she creates layered, atmospheric works that invite calm and reflection. Her artistic journey began with private lessons in Baku and years of studying the masters during museum visits across Europe. Today, she paints from a cozy home studio and often escapes to the mountains near Qakh, where wildflowers and changing skies stir her imagination. Outside the studio, Gulshaba enjoys soft music, walks in nature, and peaceful time with family.

Artist Statement
I create oil paintings inspired by nature. My style is a mix of realism and impressionism—I don’t try to copy nature exactly, but to show its mood and beauty through color, light, and texture.
I use oil on canvas because it allows me to work slowly, add layers, and build depth. This helps me express feelings and create an atmosphere in each painting.
Nature is my main source of inspiration. I often paint from memories, photos, or simple moments that stay with me, like the light in a forest or the quiet of a sunset. My goal is to share these peaceful moments with others.
I’ve always admired artists like Monet and Shishkin, and I’m also inspired by modern painters who connect nature with emotion. Art has been part of my life for many years. What started as a personal passion has become a professional path.
